Index of Gifted

Movies and series are a great way to escape reality. We are in an era where people are fonder of series & TV shows than films. Series have a peculiar way to impress the audience. They are much deeper and realistic with a personal connection to the audience. The long and numerous episodes of the series create a strong bond between the audience and the story. The Gifted is one of the popular series you’d have sure heard of!

The Gifted is a superhero TV series that is based on the Marvel Comics’ X-Men properties. Made in America, the series was created by Matt Nix for Fox. The plot of The Gifted is set in a timeline where there are no X-Men. All of them have disappeared.

Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, the series was created in association with Marvel Television. Nix is the series’ showrunner.

The Gifted was released in the year 2017 and received quite a good reception from the audience. It gained brilliant viewership. The first season of The Gifted was aired between October 2017 and January 2018. The success of the first season led to the immediate development of the second season, which was aired in September 2018.

Though the second season was received well, Fox cancelled the next season of The Gifted, to the disappointment of its fans. The plan of series development based on X-Men did not materialize with Fox before The Gifted. Fox gave a nod to The Gifted and got committed to its development. The series was ordered only by May 2017.

Plotline

The Gifted has Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker nailing the roles of ordinary parents just like every other parent. They live a normal life with their usual routine, which is disturbed on one unexpected day. They discover their children possess mutant powers.

The story then deals with the family, which is on the run from the unfriendly government immediately after finding out the mutant abilities of their children. They mingle with the underground community of mutants, who should battle for their survival.

The first season of The Gifted shows the underground community of mutants joining the Inner Circle. In the second season, conflicts arise between many such groups based on their different ideologies. These were represented with engaging and the best visual effects.

The series has a total of two seasons. After the positive response from the audience for the first two seasons, the development of the third season was on plan. But, soon Fox cancelled the third season for The Gifted. Originally, Nix wanted every season to end without a close-end, giving the audience hope for the next season. But, unfortunately, the series ended with just two seasons.

The plot of the series and visual effects gained great appreciation from both critics and fans. The first season laid a solid foundation for the series with a grasping plotline and relevant cast. According to some reports, the first season premiere of The Gifted did well than the very popular series Lucifer.
