Princess Mako was born on 23rd October 1991, at the Imperial Household Agency Hospital in Tokyo. She is the eldest daughter of Crown Princess Kiko and Crown Prince Fumihito, and the granddaughter of Emperor Akihito. She was raised alongside her younger siblings, Prince Hisahito and Princess Kako.
Her early education began at Gakushuin School. Later, she continued her studies at the University College, Dublin and completed her graduation in English.
