The series follows Detective Lois Tryon as she investigates a series of brutal crimes in a small community. At some point, Lois starts feeling that the crimes are personal as if someone is taunting her deliberately.

At home, Lois is dealing with a strained relationship with her daughter, and a husband who has been in long-term hospital care.
