Google’s innovative Circle to Search feature was initially launched in January alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. This functionality was complemented by other AI-powered tools like Note Assist and Live Translate, which were added to enhance user experience.

The tech giant first introduced Circle to Search with the January Pixel feature drop, making it accessible to Pixel 8 models. In March, the Pixel 7 lineup also received this feature. Now, Google has announced a wider rollout, extending the Circle to Search feature to more Android devices.

For those unversed, Circle to Search is an upgraded version of Google’s multi-search tool that enables users to simultaneously search images and text within the Google app. This latest feature takes it a step further by helping users comprehend themes, concepts, or ideas from web content.

To use Circle to Search across any app, users must long-press the navigation bar or home button on their Samsung or Pixel device, and then choose the desired gesture to highlight the searchable content.

Google has outlined various applications for the new Circle to Search feature. For instance, it can assist users in identifying items worn by a celebrity by tapping, circling, doodling, or highlighting the selected part of the image.

Confirmed by the Mountain View-based search giant, the rollout initiates this week and will include a range of Google Pixel devices. Among those gaining access to Circle to Search are the Google Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 7a, and Pixel Fold. Additionally, it will be compatible with Samsung’s latest offerings such as the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

Presently, Google’s Circle to Search is already operational on various flagship devices such as the Google Pixel 7 Pro, Google Pixel 7, Google Pixel 8 Pro, and Google Pixel 8 models. It is also accessible on the Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup.

Google highlighted that the Circle to Search feature offers convenient shopping assistance for users seeking specific items or styles. In addition to that it helps travelers in foreign locations, particularly those with unfamiliar languages, by swiftly translating on-screen content.

The feature enables users to seamlessly search for information without switching applications. With Generative AI support, Circle to Search not only accelerates information retrieval but also facilitates more complex research tasks.
