you season 5

Joe Goldberg, the charismatic yet dangerously obsessive murderer, is back for one final season. Having evaded capture (yet again) in season 4, what horrors will he unleash next?

Despite being initially met with a lot of controversies, the show has emerged to become one of the most well-written and well-executed shows in recent times. With such amazing plot twists, intriguing storylines, and prominent character development, it has acquired a dedicated fanbase.

Now, with four seasons under its belt, fans are curious to know more about You Season 5 and its release date.

When is You Season 5 Releasing?

You season 5 is confirmed to hit Netflix sometime in 2024. While an exact date hasn’t been revealed yet, looking at past seasons might give us a clue. Season 4, for instance, was announced in October 2021 and premiered in February 2023, with a second part following a month later.

If they stick to a similar release schedule, we can anticipate You Season 5 to arrive sometime in the latter half of 2024. However, production delays are always a possibility. The recent SAG-AFTRA strike might have pushed filming back slightly. Keep an eye out for official announcements from Netflix for a more concrete release date.

We’d also recommend that you keep realistic expectations out of the show and its release dates. Until we get official confirmation from the network and the showrunners, there’s no point speculating about the what-ifs.

What can we expect from You Season 5?

The season 4 finale threw a major curveball. Joe, framed for his crimes in Marienne’s eyes, escapes to Paris with a new obsession – Marienne herself. A first-look image released by Netflix confirms this – Joe is back in the bustling city of lights. But will Paris be his sanctuary, or will his past catch up to him?

Joe, ever the chameleon, might try to reinvent himself in Paris. He’ll likely seek out a new object of affection, leading him down a familiar path of manipulation and stalking. However, Paris, with its tight-knit communities and watchful eyes, might not be as easy a hunting ground as London or Los Angeles.

Love Quinn may be gone, but Marianne is well aware of Joe’s true nature. Will she expose him to the authorities? Perhaps Joe will have to confront the consequences of his actions, leading to a desperate struggle for survival.

Joe has left a trail of bodies in his wake. Could someone from his past – perhaps a vengeful relative of a victim – finally track him down in Paris, forcing him to deal with the fallout of his crimes?

This season could also explore the psychological impact of Joe’s actions on him. Will the constant need for control and manipulation finally take its toll? Things are surely going to get a lot more exciting.

Who is returning to You Season 5?

To be fair, the official cast list is still not confirmed but we can expect our main characters to return in the final season of this series. This would likely include:

  • Penn Badgley
  • Tati Gabrielle
  • Amy-Leigh Hickman
  • Charlotte Ritchie
