The Equalizer Season 5

CBS’s The Equalizer happens to be the modern version of the classic ’80s show of the same name. After four successful seasons, the show is now renewed for another season.

The Equalizer was first released in 2021, featuring Queen Latifah. In the show, Latifah portrays Robyn McCall, a former CIA agent who now acts as a vigilante. She helps people who have been wronged while seeking her redemption.

Queen Latifah’s strong performance makes the series a great continuation of the franchise. Unlike many of the network’s other shows, which tend to be procedural, The Equalizer builds up to something bigger. No wonder, the show is renewed for another season. That being said, let’s take a look at the details about The Equalizer season 5 in the lines below.

When Is The Equalizer Releasing?

As per reports, CBS has decided to move up the premiere date for The Equalizer season 5. Originally set to air on 27th October 2024, the new season will now start a week earlier on 20th October, sharp at 9:30 PM.

After the premiere, the show will return to its regular time slot of 9:00 PM starting from 3rd November.

The early renewal of the show even before season 4 finished, shows the network’s strong confidence in the series. So, fans can now expect the first episode of season 5 on 20th October, with the remaining episodes airing from 3rd November onwards.

What To Expect In The Equalizer?

The last episode of season 4, aired on CBS on 19th May 2024. Directed by Darren Grant and written by Joe Gazzam and Rob Hanning, the episode centres on Melody Bayani who is kidnapped by a former member of her Air Force team named Eric.

In this episode, Marcus Dante and Robyn McCall express their feelings for each other. But shortly after, Marcus gets an offer to join a special investigation unit in the Los Angeles police department. Even though Robyn is heartbroken, he encourages him to take the job. Meanwhile, Melody manages to escape her captors. The episode concludes with Marcus leaving for Los Angeles.

As far as season 5 plot details are concerned, the show will pick up where season 4 ended. Dante is moving to Los Angeles for a new job as he doesn’t want a desk job for the rest of his life. However, there’s a chance that Dante might return or Robyn might visit him. The next season may explore Robyn’s relationship with her daughter, Delilah.
