Monsterland Season 2: What to Expect from the Halloween Return!

Mary Laws was inspired to a great extent after she read Nathan Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters: Stories”. So much so that she decided to base her Monsterland series on that very book. The series is episodic and different episodes deal with a whole new story. If you are someone who enjoys horror stories then Monsterland should be on your watching list this year. 

As for the existing fans of the show, there is a pressing question at hand whether or not Monsterland will be renewed for the next season. If you have been wondering that too then here are some hints about the release date and plot of Monsterland season 2 that might lead you to a conclusion. 

What is the release date of Monsterland season 2?

Hulu is Monsterland’s host platform. Hulu is known for releasing new and spooky shows on Halloween every year. One could say that Hulu has this tradition to maintain its own Halloween vibe. 

When Monsterland was first premiered it was during the October of 2020 and again gained considerable fame and love of viewers in the Halloween of 2021. With the spooky month approaching rapidly for 2023 fans are now speculating when they will be able to watch the 2nd season of Monsterland in the making. 

While a month or so is usually enough time for OTT platforms such as Hulu, Netflix, or Mubi to announce the renewal of a show. Now with years gone by following the last season of Monsterland, things don’t look that good. Even if a new season is being planned the fans should not expect a new season before October of 2023. It could also take the creators till October 2024 to come up with any certain and positive news about a potential Monsterland Season 2.

What could be the plot of Monsterland season 2?

Monsterland is an anthology series. It is built out of a series of short stories. The 8 episodes that the first season of the series features can be watched in whatever chronology you want. All these episodes have different backdrops in terms of location, setting, and even of course the plot. 

Even though all of these stories were different, one thing that was constantly consistent would be the fear factor. If you are looking for something to set the mood for the upcoming spooky month then even now you can tune in to the first and only season that Monsterland had produced. 

About the second season though there is still no news. Also, judging from the kind of series that season 1 had been, it is doubtful whether Monsterland would have a second season at all. If and when the makers of Monsterland decide to come up with another season then the fans will be provided with the update in due time.

Who would be in the cast of Monsterland season 2?

The series was created by Mary Laws out of her appreciation for Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters: Stories”. Monsterland is supposed to be an anthology series. In the case of anthology series second seasons are usually a doubted venture. The cast of such an anthology series is always skeptical. Nothing can be said about the cast of Monsterland season 2 unless any official announcement comes from the end of the makers of the show.

Unfortunately, such a masterpiece might not have a follow-up season. Fans are not too happy about this delay in an official announcement. The only consolation that the audience has is perhaps that whenever a new season comes into production, the season can be expected to maintain the scary metre accordingly as the first season did.
