The recent tear-down video posted on a Chinese tech channel named Bilibili shows how similar the inside of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is. If you didn’t know, both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are of the same display size and dimensions. Now, the recent tear-down video posted by the Chinese Tech channel Bilibili has shown that not just their displays and dimensions, but the internal components of both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models are also almost the same. iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have already hit the sales market in countries like Japan, China, the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.
In the teardown video, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro were seen using the Identical L-shaped logic board, to everyone’s surprise. But, iPhone 12 Pro consists of a connector separately for the LiDAR sensor, which the iPhone 12 does not have. In iPhone 12, a plastic filling is used to replace the LiDAR sensor and telephoto shooter that is in iPhone 12 Pro.
Just like the backside, the front part of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro also consists of similar components, including the True depth camera system, earpiece, and display assembly. As both iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro’s internal components are very identical, they can be easily interchanged. But, you should know that Apple has not yet revealed any official information regarding interchanging both the internal parts. So, do not do this without any official announcement.
Both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models use a 2,815 mAh battery. The wireless charging coil and MagSafe component are also similar in both iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro.
The video will be a huge backfire to iPhone 12 Pro as iPhone 12 is much cheaper than the pro model and as both the internal components in both the phones are almost the same, consumers might just go for the iPhone 12 for its much affordable price than opting for costlier iPhone 12 Pro model.
Now, coming to the distinguishing differences between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models, iPhone 12 is made of an aluminum frame, while the iPhone 12 Pro is made of a stainless steel frame. The camera is also much more advanced in iPhone 12 Pro because of the telephoto shooter and LiDAR sensor.
