Ever since Shark Tank started, the show has introduced us to numerous new brands. One such brand is Eyewris, which offers a unique solution to those who often misplace their reading glasses.

With an innovative design, Eyewris glasses are foldable and can be wrapped around the wrist. Unlike regular glasses, Eyewris glasses ensure they are always within reach. Combining style with practicality, founders Kenzo Singer and Mark Singer made it easier for users to carry their reading glasses wherever they go. To find out more about the brand and how their pitch was on Shark Tank, give this post a read.

About The Brand

Founded in 2022, Eyewris offers stylish, foldable reading glasses that are both lightweight and comfortable to wear. These glasses are designed to be convenient, so users can wear them on their wrists and not misplace them like regular glasses.

What makes Eyewris glasses better are its innovative features, including the anti-reflective, scratch-resistant, and smudge-resistant coatings. Additionally, the glasses provide a blue light filter and 100% UV protection. Also, the frames are made of Swiss TR-90 thermoplastic. For durability, the bridge is crafted with stainless steel and nickel-titanium memory metal. While the regular price for these glasses is $110, they are currently sold for $65.

About The Founders

The company was founded by Mark Singer and his son, Kenzo Singer. Mark is an award-winning furniture inventor and designer. He previously founded and created Gorilla Glue, which he later sold to Lutz Tool Company.

On the other hand, Kenzo worked as a structural engineer in Los Angeles, where he designed buildings including stadiums and skyscrapers. He studied structural engineering and architecture at Cornell University and completed his master’s degree in 2011. Together, they combined their expertise to create Eyewris and solve the problem of misplacing reading glasses.

What Happened On Shark Tank?

Mark and Kenzo took their brand Eyewris to season 14 of Shark Tank with the hope of securing $25,000 for 5% equity in their company. The pitch delivered by the father-son duo made the Sharks interested in the product. The innovative design and the problem it addressed impressed the Sharks. As a result, all five Sharks were interested in investing in Eyewris.

After some discussion, the Sharks presented a counteroffer of $125,000 for a 25% stake in the company. In response, Kenzo proposed a 20% equity to which the Sharks agreed.

Is The Brand Successful?

After appearing on Shark Tank, Eyewris experienced a significant boost in sales and visibility. The show gave the brand immense exposure, which made more customers show interest in the brand. As a result, Eyewris had its inventory sold out shortly after the episode was aired.

By late July, the company was able to place their sold-out items on pre-order. As of now, Eyewris continues to operate and has an estimated worth of $625,000. They offer their products through their official website, where customers can find various designs.

According to reports, the company has won several awards for their excellent design. Some of those awards include the Red Dot Award, the Kyoto Global Design Award, and the Good Design Award.
