Early Life
Robert was born on 2nd September 1942 in Plainfield, New Jersey, in a Jewish family. Nothing much about his parents and siblings is shared on the public platform; neither has he ever mentioned much about them. The ambiance in which he was raised is also not available.
He later shifted to Los Angeles, California, and went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he received a degree in Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1965. In 1995, his name was put into the limelight for being a part of the Dream Team of O.J. Simpson’s defence attorney team, where he defended O.J. against the murder of his wife. Following this trail, he diverted his expertise mainly to civil litigation and stepped into business opportunities.
In 2001, he co-founded LegalZoom to help with online legal services. In 2009, he co-founded ShoeDazzle, a subscription-based fashion company, and later in 2017, he co-founded RightCounsel, a platform where clients can connect to attorneys, and BizCounsel, a subscription-based legal services platform for small businesses.
He even wrote many books on the law, and one that gained the most attention was “The Search for Justice: A Defense Attorney’s Brief on the O.J. Simpson Case,” released in 1988.
