Alec Cabacugan was born on 8th of May, 2002, in Oak Park, Illinois, USA, to the couple Gill and Alma Cabacugan. He was detected to have been born with a rare genetic condition Osteogenesis Imperfecta or Brittle Bone Disease, and has been a patient in Shriners Hospitals for Children since birth.

Despite his condition, he attended Abraham Lincoln Elementary School and later Oak Park River Forest High School. He recently earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Broadcasting Journalism from Northwestern University. His medical condition has made him suffer from broken bones more than 60 times and undergo several surgeries at the same hospital he is a patient at.

Kaleb-Wolf De Melo Torres was born on 28th June 2009 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to the couples Ruban De Melo and Natali Torres. His parents took him to the Shriners Hospitals for Children for specialized care and received his first surgery at the age of 7. Like Alec, Kaleb has broken his 200 bones while receiving 11 surgeries at the same hospital.

Both of them are compelled to use wheelchair due to their condition, but that didn’t take their spirit down, and now they represent the Shriners Hospitals for Children on social media, endorse brands, speak at health seminars, and appear on TV shows and the News.
