Young Justice is a popular comic series created by Peter David, Todd Dezago, and Todd Nauck, which was later adapted into an animated series by Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman for Cartoon Network. The series focuses on a group of teenage and young adult superheroes as they form their own covert operations team. In season 2, Robin, Miss Martian, and Superboy are offered to join the Justice League but decide to remain with the Young League. Some members of the Young League retire, and new members are added. It is revealed that the Justice League had attacked a peaceful planet five years prior, causing the aliens to turn to the Reach, an extraterrestrial species that promised a friendly relationship. However, it is soon revealed that the Reach is a member of the Light, a criminal organization that wants to rule Earth. The Team must stop the Light’s machinations while also fighting against metahuman trafficking.
