Inger Stevens was born on 18th October 1934, in Stockholm, Sweden. When she was just a young girl, her life took a sudden turn, when her mother abandoned the family, leaving Inger with her father and brother Ola. Following that, Inger along with her family relocated to the United States, where they were left under the care of a family maid before her aunt took them in.
Growing up in a new country wasn’t easy as Inger faced many challenges, including language barriers and cultural differences. After moving to Manhattan, Kansas, she completed her schooling at Manhattan High School. At the age of 18, Inger went back to New York City and joined the Garment District, where she served as a chorus girl. At the same time, she also learned acting at Actors Studio.
