Her family’s inclination towards religion played a great role in her upbringing.

Her childhood days were spent in San Antonio, where she also attended a local Catholic school. However, nothing about her formal and higher education is available, but she was said to be a good student and was active in her community. While completing her education, she started working part time at the age of 17.
