A clothing brand is as common as fish in the pond, but there are people who don’t just see a clothing brand as a profit-making business and think beyond that. See The Way I See is a clothing brand founded by Sophie-Nistico with the aim of helping people who are dealing with mental health. The idea hit her when she was at her lowest in terms of her own mental health and was struggling to make it every day after suffering from chronic migraine and anxiety.
Unlike the majority, she didn’t let her struggles drown her in depression, but rather channeled her energy into founding a brand that became a thriving business. She later went to represent her clothing brand on Shark Tank Season 14, Episode 21. Let’s uncover what happened with her pitch and where her brand stands today.

See The Way I See was founded by Sophie Nistico in 2020 in Ontario, Canada, when she was in high school. The idea behind the foundation of the brand was to come out of the constant mental health struggle and focus on something better. The brand came into being in a small bedroom, but soon turned out to be a thriving business with the aim of raising awareness amongst people regarding mental health.
The aim of the brand is reflected in each clothing item, designed and manufactured with health and mental affirmation printed on them. It started merely with an investment of $500 and a sticker printer, but within two years, it expanded with the help of social media, and many times, the brand sold out its products within 24 hours. The brand recorded its major success in terms of sales when it sold items worth $260,000 within 24 hours of the launch.
The products are available in different prices, like the hoodies cost $75, crewnecks cost $60. Later, the brand attracted huge popularity after appearing on Shark Tank Season 14, Episode 21.
Sophie Nistico founded the brand See The Way I See in 2021 when she was still studying in high school, and it is based in Ontario, Canada. The motive behind founding the brand was the result of her own journey and struggle with mental health and chronic migraines. She started the business from her bedroom and grew her into a booming business and gained great profits, and then she invested the amount back into the business.
After founding the business and successfully running it, Sophie went to Sacred Heart University to get a Bachelor of Science. She took her brand, See The Way I See, on Shark Tank, although she didn’t get the deal.
Sophie arrived on Shark Tank Season 14, Episode 21 and was telecasted on 24th March, 2023. She appeared and asked for $250,000 in exchange of 10% of equity while explaining her business and how it impacts the lives of many by adding positive and reassuring affirmations on the clothes. Sophie even talked about the range of products her brands sell, including rings, stickers, and keychains. She even mentioned that her social media has helped a lot in making her business a success.
Barbara Corcoran asked Sophie the first question about how she got the idea for the business, to which she replied that she always had a passion for helping other and wanted to be a nurse, but things didn’t go as planned, as she was suffering from anxiety. She rediscovered her passion for art and invested $500 to buy a printer and sticker-cutting machine and started the business.
Next, Kevin O Leary asked about how much has she had spent on advertising, to which she replied nothing. He further asked how much sales she will be achieving in the current year, to which she replied that she has by far made $260,000. Mark Cuban throws the next question and asked about the pricing, to which she replied that costs of one crewneck cost her $21, and she sells them for $60 and the hoodie costs $25, and she sells them for $75 each.
Mark further enquired about the total sales, and Sophie replied $790,000, and about the numbers of employees she has to which she said, it is just her. Mark again asked about how much she has in her bank account, to which she said about $450,000. Daymon came next and asked her need for a shark, to which she said that she needed guidance for running her company further.
Kevin came next and asked several questions like how she evaluated her company’s net worth at $2.5 million, to which she replied that it is based on the total sales till date, which is around $2. Million, and she is expecting to finish at $1 million. On the next query about the profit, she replied that she made $900,000 in total sales with a profit of $115,000, followed by the next year’s sales of $640,000 with a profit of $235,000, and this year, the sales were at $790,000.
All the sharks were impressed by the sales figure and believed that Sophie is doing quite well for herself and didn’t require a shark to help her out and mutually decided that none of them would invest and opted out from the pitch. With no deal in her hand, Sophie still left the stage with confidence.
Even before appearing on Shark Tank, Sophie was leading the brand See The Way I See quite successfully, but after the appearance, her exposure exploded, and she became more famous. At present, the all-time sales of the products are at $3 million, and the net worth stands at $3.5 million, which is way too good considering how small investment was done initially.
Presently, the brand ships worldwide, and customers from the USA can enjoy free shipping on orders above $200. The size ranges from XXS to 6XL, and one can purchase directly from the website.
