According to reports, Samsung could soon add a new device, Galaxy C55 5G, to its Galaxy C-series. While Samsung has not officially confirmed this new addition, reports suggest that the phone has been seen on the Google Play Console. It’s rumored that the Galaxy C55 5G showed up on the listing with the model number m55xq, accompanied by an image that appears to be official.
As per the listing, the phone may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC. Additionally, there’s speculation that the Galaxy C55 5G could be a renamed version of either the Galaxy M55 or the Galaxy F55.
This mid-range chipset was first introduced in 2022, and boasts four Cortex-A710 cores running at 2.4 GHz, along with four Cortex-A510 cores operating at 1.8 GHz, and an Adreno 662 GPU. These specifications indicate that the chip is not tailored for high-performance tasks, and is good for only everyday functions.
Information about the Galaxy C55 is limited right now, although the device has been surfacing on certifications for some time now. This suggests that its launch might happen soon. Additionally, Samsung is anticipated to unveil the Galaxy F55 and Galaxy M55 smartphones for the global market shortly.
Myfixguide recently uncovered the listing of the Galaxy C55 5G on the Google Play Console website. Screenshots shared by the publication showcase the handset along with key specifications, including the Android 14 OS and 8GB RAM. The device is expected to feature a Qualcomm chipset with the codename SM7450, paired with an Adreno 644 GPU, aligning with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC.
Details from the Google Play Console listing hint at a full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels, and a pixel density of 450ppi for the Galaxy C55 5G. The alleged image of the handset also reveals a triple-camera setup on the back and a hole-punch design on the display in the center. These features, along with the model number m55xq, suggest that the device could indeed be a rebranded version of either the Galaxy M55 or the Galaxy F55.
Samsung’s Galaxy C-series phones have always been targeted at the Chinese market. However, Samsung has not officially announced any plans to bring back the Galaxy C lineup, casting some doubt on the validity of these reports. Therefore, until further confirmation from Samsung, these details cannot be regarded as true.
