Alicia Scott, the founder and CEO of Range Beauty, came up with the idea after she noticed the lack of products for people of all skin tones and was determined to address the problem.
Completing her education from Virginia Tech, Alicia gained work experience as a marketing intern and later as a human resources analyst before joining the fashion industry.
Her partner, Myisha Fantroy, helped bring the brand to life and joined her on Shark Tank, where they pitched their business together before a panel of investors.
Alicia and Myisha asked for $150,000 in exchange for 6% equity in their company and explained how their brand filled a unique need in the beauty industry on the show.
They also shared how the brand generated $330,000 in revenue in 2020, and that their products were out of stock in Target.
Though the Sharks were interested, they had questions and wanted to know how Range Beauty is different from other cosmetic brands in the market.
In the end, Lori Griener and Emma Grede offered $150,000 for a 20% stake in the company, which the founders accepted after some discussion.
Range Beauty gained immense popularity after Shark Tank and even made some big moves that doubled their sales in just a few weeks.
The brand partnered with companies like Marjani, ROSE Ingleton MD, and HOORAE Media in 2022 and confirmed their deal with Lori and Emma the following year.
They were also chosen to be part of Sephora’s Accelerate Brand Incubator Program, which helped Range Beauty reach more customers and boost their sales further.
According to the latest estimates, Range Beauty’s net value in 2025 is approximately. $1.8 million and is expected to rise higher in the future if they continue to strive forward with the same zeal.
