Musa Motha was born in 1996; the date and the month are not known, in Gauteng, South Africa. At a young age, his struggle started as he was diagnosed with bone cancer and lost his left leg to amputation. He was originally a passionate footballer and wanted to pursue it as a career before the diagnosis and amputation. In 2018, he received formal dance training and joined Vuyani Dance Theatre in Johannesburg, and took lessons in Contemporary, Tap, and Ballet, Afro-Fusion, and Pantsula.
By 2019, he started touring internationally and performing in several productions and festivals. In 2023, he participated in Britain’s Got Talent, which put him into the limelight and he proved his worth as an excellent dancer despite the disability. He received the show’s first-ever group golden buzzer for his performance on a song “Runnin” by Naughty Boys and became a finalist and finished in 5th Place in the season.
Post his appearance in Britain’s Got Talent, he became immensely popular, and in 2024, he was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summer Paralympics held in Paris. Presently, he has an active career as a dancer and choreographer, but he is also working as a motivational speaker and DJ, and is working on several developing projects which we will see in the coming time.
