Hell on Wheels premiered on AMC in 2011 and the show eventually ended in 2016 after six successful seasons.

Bohannon is seeking revenge for the death of his wife and son, who were killed by Union soldiers during the Civil War.
Besides exploring Bohannon’s story, there were a lot of other plotlines that the creators could have explored in the show, including the completion of the transcontinental railroad and the impact it had on the American West.
Also, the rise of the industries along the west following the completion of the construction would have been a good addition to the plot. But, as the show has come to an end, none of those plots will come to life.
