Gen V debuted on Amazon Prime Video in 2023, and there’s already buzz about what’s coming next in Gen V season 2. Amazon recognizing the potential of Gen V, confirmed a second season before the first one even aired.
Production for Gen V season 2 will begin soon. The unfortunate passing of Chance Perdomo caused a delay in filming the spin-off. Eventually, the decision was made to proceed with the show without Perdomo’s character, Andre. If you would like to read more about the upcoming season and its possible release date, we suggest you give this post a read.
Gen V season 2 is officially in the works. However, the excitement was tempered by the heartbreaking loss of one of the show’s core cast members, Chance Perdomo. He was known for his role as the teenage superhero Andre Anderson and passed away in a motorcycle accident on 29th March.
In the wake of this devastating news, the Gen V cast came together to pay tribute to their beloved colleague and friend. Sean Patrick Thomas took to Instagram to honour his co-star’s brilliance and talent. Meanwhile, Lizzie Broadway shared a touching handwritten tribute on Instagram, celebrating Chance’s gentle nature.
That being said, the release date of Gen V season 2 is not yet revealed. It is speculated that the show will release in mid-2025, but nothing is confirmed.
The Gen V finale left some hints about what might happen when the show comes back. In the final episode of season 1, Andre, Marie, Little Cricket, and Jordan find themselves locked up by Vought. They are blamed for the chaos caused by Cate and Sam. But Marie doesn’t seem too worried, suggesting Vought has other plans for them in season 2.
However, plans for season 2 need adjustments because of Chance Perdomo’s death. The producers decided not to replace him, so they will have to explain his character’s absence and possibly change some storylines.
In season 1, Homelander makes a surprising appearance, interrupting Marie’s showdown with Cate. He seems about to attack Marie but then disappears, only to later appear smirking on TV. It’s clear he’s involved in Marie’s situation, but the details will have to wait until season 2.
Since Chance Perdomo is no more, it is not clear what will happen to his character, Andre. There’s a high possibility that the character will be written out of the series. We will have to wait and see what the producers decide.
Other characters that likely return won’t include Indira Shetty, portrayed by Shelley Conn, Doctor Edison Cardosa, played by Marco Pigossi, and Luke played by Patrick Schwarzenegger.
