Benton started his career as soon as he completed his education at Harvard Business School. His initial career began on Wall Street, where he worked for Goldman Sachs and managed the technology sector that was on the rise during the 1980s to 1990s. While at Wall Street, he also worked for Pequot as a Technology Analyst and Portfolio Manager, which earned him the title of Top Tech Investor.
In 2001, Benton co-founded Andor Capital Management, a Hedge Fund company focusing on technology investment. He took the company to the top and included it in the list of the largest technology Hedge funds managing billions of dollars.
His vision of spotting the right opportunity to make the investment played a huge role in the growth of the company. This success didn’t last long, and the assets of the company came down from $9 billion to $1 billion and Benton stepped down from his position from Andor.
Post leaving Andor, Benton founded Benton Capital Management in 2018 and to date has been making investments in the technology and healthcare fields. He is also working as an individual Angel investor and is a Trustee of Colgate University, an advisor for Horace Mann School, and Hospital for Special Surgery.
