Created by Studio Orange, Beastars captured the attention of anime fans soon after its release on Netflix. The streaming giant acquired the rights to the first season in March 2020.
The story follows a big grey wolf named Legoshi, and the complexities of a universe inhabited by anthropomorphic animals. The show became a hit soon after its release, which led the producers to release a second season.
Now that seasons 1 and 2 are over, fans are eagerly waiting for the next season. According to reports, Studio Orange, the production company behind Beasters renewed the show shortly after the release of the second season. They also confirmed that Beastars season 3 would be coming to Netflix in 2024. However, an exact release date has yet to be announced.
Additionally, Studio Orange has stated that the upcoming third season will mark the conclusion of the series.
As you would all know, seasons 1 and 2 covered the first 11 volumes of the manga, which was mainly about finding out who killed Tem the alpaca. Now that the killer is caught and jailed, the series is expected to explore its world more and look at the shady characters introduced in the previous two seasons.
Beastars season 3 is expected to cover the last two arcs. The first, called the “Interspecies Relations Arc,” deals with what happens after the season 2 finale. Legoshi tries to rebuild his life while we learn more about how different animal species interact in their society.
The final arc is called the “Revenge of the Love Failure Arc.” It has Legoshi facing a new enemy named Melon. Though Melon sounds harmless, he is a dangerous serial killer who doesn’t hesitate to hurt anyone, including Haru and Legoshi. This arc mainly focuses on the criminal underground and the power struggles within it.
That being said, Beastars season 3 is expected to be released in two courses. Each course is likely to include 11-13 episodes, depending on the airing date. So, fans can anticipate the final season to have around 22-26 episodes in total.
The trailer for Beastars season 3 has revealed some of the returning cast members. While it was expected that key characters like Haru, Louis, and Legoshi would be back, the trailer also confirms that Juno, Gohin, and Jack will appear in the third season. The voice actors for these characters are:
