Facebook Opens Ad Sales Office In Hong Kong

Hong Kong — Facebook today announced the opening of its Hong Kong sale office, which will provide direct, locally-based support and expertise for brands, agencies and companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan to help them connect to and deepen relationships with their target audiences.

The second sales office opening in Asia following Singapore demonstrates Facebook’s commitment to Asia, and in particular to Hong Kong and Taiwan, where there are active online populations and sophisticated digital marketing communities. Amidst this environment, brands are beginning to realize the marketing opportunity that Facebook provides. The company already works with major brands across Asia such as 3 Hong Kong, the mobile operation of Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong Holdings Ltd, and Wyeth, and is building a local team to provide expertise and support to these brands in executing their marketing campaigns on Facebook.

“With millions of people in Hong Kong and Taiwan using Facebook daily to connect with the people, brands, and causes they care about, Facebook provides a powerful combination of reach and engagement for advertisers,” said Blake Chandlee, VP & Commercial Director, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Emerging Markets. “By continuing to build our presence in the region, Facebook will be able to directly provide full support to advertisers here and help them create and execute campaigns that will have a meaningful impact on their businesses.”

Facebook’s sales team works with the world’s largest marketers and brands. More than 80 of the top 100 advertisers in the US advertise on Facebook. Currently, the sales team has offices in the US, Canada, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, and Singapore.
